Barnes Fell Guest House is situated just above the centre of Ambleside in a peaceful position only a short walk from the centre of the town. We are in the heart of the magnificent scenery of the English Lake District close to the northern shores of Lake Windermere.

Many easy strolls and more testing walks can be accessed from the guest house and there are many other attractions close by, from the former homes of the poets Wordsworth in Grasmere and Ruskin in Coniston, to 'Hill Top' cottage at Near Sawrey where the writer Beatrix Potter, famous for her Tales of Peter Rabbit lived, to more recent visitor attractions such as the Aquarium of the Lakes and the Brockhole National Park Visitor Centre by Windermere Lake.
